Dear School Families, Friends and Visitors,

I'm so excited about the launch of our new school website! Over the past several years our school has been pushing new technology initiatives and strengthening its STEM offerings (those in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to give our students the best foundation possible for the future. Our new school website (completely rebuilt from the inside out) is another huge step forward.

I'm probably a little bit of a geek when it comes to technology and computers, so let me share what I love about our new website.  While most visitors will be impressed with the new design and its look and feel (which is really beautiful), I'm most impressed by the fact that it's built on the same platform designed and used by Harvard University to serve the technology needs of their own professors and students. This will allow our teachers to do so much more with our new website than we could do in the past, allowing the classroom to reach out beyond the physical walls of our school. The new functionality and tools that we have at our fingertips is well beyond what a typical elementary and middle school has available. I'm really excited to see how our new website will help us keep advancing in the area of technology to better serve the needs of our students.

As much as I love technology, I know that the most important thing in our school remains the Lord Jesus, in whose name we teach and form our children. While technology can be exciting, it cannot provide answers to the deep questions our hearts are asking. The Lord alone can satisfy our restless hearts and it is to Him that we turn for what will really satisfy.

I am grateful for the many blessings the Lord has given us at the start of this new school year and grateful to our parents who have chosen to send their children to OLPH school. I look forward to all that the Lord has in store for the rest of this year.
