Join Angel Bivens, RPh from the Maryland Poison Center on 2/13/12 at 7:00pm in the Parish Center Gymnasium for an eye-opening discussion on Medication Safety.

Every year 60,000 children end up in the emergency room because they got into medicine while their parent or caregiver was not looking. 36% occur in their grandparents home.

Angel Bivens RPh is a pharmacist and certified specialist in poison information.  She has been with the Maryland Poison Center(MPC)at the University of Maryland Medical Center for 18 years.  Before becoming the Public Education Coordinate for MPC, she spent 8 years answering the emergency telephone lines at the Poison Center.  In her current position she is responsible for education and outreach throughout Maryland.  She continues to cover shifts on the emergency lines on an as-needed basis.
