On Saturday, February 11, 8th-grader Kevin Roche and 7th-grader Katie King represented OLPH at the annual MATHCOUNTS competition for middle-school students at the University of Maryland, College Park.  5th-grader Colleen Roche also competed unofficially.  Kevin finished 15th among 244 official contestants and will advance to the state competition at Johns Hopkins University on March 17.  All three OLPH students had good scores on a very challenging test with extremely strong competition; typically several of the College Park participants go on to rank highly at the national level.
