We are thankful for all of the gifts that God has bestowed on us. We are thankful for the people God has sent to us to help us to learn about His great and mighty love for us. Generosity and peace are meant to be a part of our everyday encounters with those in our lives. Archbishop Oscar Romero wrote,

“Peace is not the product of terror or fear.

Peace is not the silence of cemeteries.

Peace is not the silent result of violent repression.

Peace is the generous, tranquil contribution of all to the good of all.

Peace is dynamism.

Peace is generosity.

It is right and it is duty.”

Francis of Assisi’s deepest insight was the importance of relationships.  Living in right relationship with God and with others was the “one thing necessary” and it all flowed from the fact that we are children of the one Father and that Jesus became our brother. That’s a message that very few people have grasped and lived as thoroughly as Francis did. The prayer of St. Francis rings true to hearts today.

We are thankful this time of year for many things. Especially we are thankful for each other in this school community.

The AdvancEd Accreditation visit was a success. The team wanted to take the children home with them because the students were genuine, happy, and loving. I am thankful for all you do!
Lord, make me a channel of your peace. Amen.

Blessings on your week! Mrs. Goeres
