Dear families and friends of OLPH,

It has been a true gift these last months to serve you, get to know you, and to be continually impressed by your self-sacrificial dedication to the education of your children. Thank you for your warm welcome and your patience as I get to know the place (and your names!).  

Proclaiming the Gospel is the Lord’s urgent command. However, we can be tempted to think of this as something only done in far away places, like the missionary off in an uncivilized world preaching in the wilderness. In truth, we are all called to proclaim the Gospel to those around those, especially the children entrusted to our care! They hear the Gospel first from us. If the Gospel is worthy of our sacrifice, they will learn that it worthy of theirs.

What a great challenge! The Lord offers us His own consoling words: “I am with you always, even to the end of the world!” He is with us to strengthen us in our great mission. Please know that Fr. Arnold and I keep you in our daily prayers, that the Lord will give you every grace you need in your vocation as parents, teachers, administrators, and all those who work to make our school a place that Jesus Christ is known and loved.
