Mrs. Mary Kramp

Hello !!

My name is Mary Kramp, the Music Teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School.  I was born in Coronado, CA. on Nov. $&%. I told the Second Grade that I was 22 and I'm sticking to that!  I lived most of my life in Ridgecrest, CA. which is located in the Mojave Desert.  It's about an hour drive from Edwards Air Force Base, where the Space Shuttle often lands.  While most of you have lived among the deer and squirrels, I lived with the rattlesnakes, scorpions and desert tortoises.  I attended college at California State University, Northridge which is located in the northern part of Los Angeles.  I began as a Voice Major but became more interested in being a Piano Accompaniment Major.

I have been married for 27 years to my husband, Greg, and have two sons, Greg II and Patrick.  Greg II is 25 and graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems.  He has since gone back to school and is now an EMT, continuing his training towards becoming a Paramedic.  Patrick is 21 and in his final year at UMBC, majoring in Financial Economics with a Minor in Accounting.  We have one cat, Sebastian, who thinks she is the Queen Bee of the Kramp Household but she and I seem to have a difference of opinion.

We have lived in MD for thirteen years.  It has been a joy and privilege to spend eleven of those years with OLPH as a Music Teacher.  Being a Specials Teacher gives me the opportunity to get to know all the students from Kindergarten to Grade 8.  Whether it's clapping or stomping out a quarter note (that's not an easy task for even teachers to do), whacking Boomwhackers (a crowd pleaser), playing hand chimes, singing Liturgical Music or even doing the Chicken Dance, my job is very rewarding.

Our OLPH Students are all musicians in my eyes.  They express melodies and harmonies in their own ways.  To me, this is what makes Music Class so "Special".
